Happy 4th of July! Celebrate @ TGI Friday'sTGI Fridays, The Jam Factory, 500 Chapel Street, South Yarra What a great place to celebrate U.S. Independence Day with our Melbourne Social Group.
The Friday's restaurant chain was founded in 1965 in New York City, featuring standard American cuisine, bar food, and alcoholic beverages and still has American style food predominantly with a Creole feel to it.
Friday’s restaurants have a long history of innovation, including being credited with: Naming ‘happy hour’, Inventing the Long Island Iced Tea and Loaded Potato Skins.
The Friday’s restaurant is synonymous with ‘flair bartending’. In the mid 1980s, the restaurant created the first World Bartender Championships to honour the famous, trend-setting, bottle-tossing style of Friday’s bartenders around the globe. This tradition continues today!
Hall of Fame winner 2007-2009 for Themed/Entertainment Restaurant.

Sunday Gospel Sessions @ Aqua e VinoAqua e Vino - 18a Ballarat Street, Yarraville Hallelujah! Join the FunFF folks for a for a lazy Sunday of great wine and unbelievably good gospel music.
Gospel Sunday Sessions have taken up residency at a lovely, understated upstairs bar area in the middle of Yarraville, Aqua e Vino.
The bar itself offers a great wine selection, award winning (and pricey) cocktail selection as well as food and bar snacks. The décor is relaxed with large chesterfield sofas nestling by bay windows and quirky artwork donning the opposing walls.
The sounds you can expect to hear, as the name suggests, are full blown uplifting gospel with a James Brown, rhythm and blues backing that hits you in the face sending shivers up and down your spine. The voices on the three lead singers rival that of any you will hear in Melbourne and the four piece band create a sound barley contained within the walls of this fine establishment. Music can be heard from the relaxed, slow moving main street and as you enter through the large staircase, you are greeted by a plethora of smiles from all ages and all backgrounds.
Gospel Sundays is a fantastic day out that will leave you feeling refreshed, cultured and truly lucky!
The venue can get quite warm once the music is in full swing and people start moving their feet so dress light and take advantage of the free drink card that your $10 entry fee provides!

Legendary Blues Train Birthday BashArts Centre, St Kilda Road Melbourne Come on and ride the Blues Train! Join the FunFF gang and sometimes host, Kerrie-Anne, and help celebrate her 40th birthday aboard the Legendary Blues Train.
Nothing captures the spirit of the blues quite like a steam train. Listening to the train whistle and the clickety-clack on the tracks you can imagine the old blues masters jamming it up on Mississippi freight trains as they were 'ridin’ the blinds' around America’s deep south.
The Blues Train begins its journey at the historic town of Queenscliff and runs along the old Geelong train line, stopping in turn Suma Park historic homestead and winery, and then at Drysdale before turning around and making its way back to Queenscliff, again via Suma Park, gently rocking from side-to-side, seemingly in beat with the music coming from the bands.
At each of the stops, we swap carriages to see another of the acts, so by the end of the night we will have seen all four acts performing on the train. Our birthday bash line-up includes Tom Richardson & Eddie Boyle, Luke Watt, Chris Wilson Band and Andrea Marr Band. You can sit back, relax and listen to the music with a drink in one of the seated carriages or get up and boogie the blues away in one of the dance carriages, all while having a good laugh with your FunFF friends.
Price includes return transport to Queenscliff from the Arts Centre, light refreshments on the way to Queenscliff, Legendary Blues Train ticket and a full buffet meal before the Blues Train journey. Please note that drinks are not included in the ticket price and there is NO BYO on the Blues Train. Drinks are available from the mobile bar that miraculously appears on each platform (from the converted guard’s van). CASH ONLY for drink purchases - there are NO credit card or EFTPOS facilities on board.
Please meet Kerrie-Anne at the coffee stand outside the Arts Centre at 4.30pm. Bus will leave at 5pm sharp to ensure we arrive in Queenscliff in time to board the train, so don't be late!
You don't have to dig the blues to enjoy the Blues Train, you just have to be open to a really good time!! Tickets are strictly limited, so be sure to book early to avoid missing out on what is sure to be a great night! Please include any special dietary requirements you may have in the comments section when you book, so that we can advise the caterers on your behalf.
For more information on the Legendary Blues Train, including photos and artist bios, see www.thebluestrain.com.au.
